WORDS WITHOUT MUSIC

There are times I just feel like writing about something and it doesn’t have to end up as a lyric and then a song. Instead of writing an essay or a book or an article I write in lyrical form and leave it at that. Sometimes words alone are powerful and meaningful. And I don’t always have a personal connection or life experience to the words other than having thoughts, ideas and feelings about the subject. And perhaps reading my own stuff months later can trigger a rewrite and a song. Then there are times that the words should never have musicĀ  added. It’s a process. Maybe you can find some value here.

Dementia is not a dirty word; one just can’t remember what was heard
Nor also know what was seen, makes one a lost human being
It feels so empty and that it is; there is no test; there is no quiz
that they can pass to see the light; For them alone it’s good night

The love you feel is still so real and you do care; it doesn’t seem fair
That the person you knew is now no more and caring for them has become a chore.
It’s so sad as they slip away and you have to watch it day after day.
