From Beats to

My first marriage at age 24 produced two daughters and ended in divorce after 8 ½ years. The girls are now in their 50’s.  My second marriage to the love of my life produced a son and when he was two years old his mother got brain cancer and within 65 days of diagnosis she passed away. He is now 40.

My neighbor at the time was Trevor Lawrence a great sax player and composer and Mo Town producer. He was my tennis buddy. I was always known for writing silly verse and after she died my verse got serious as I was in mourning. I showed him my compositions and asked if they were lyrics. He said no and guided me to a lady to teach me. That’s when I wrote my first lyric dealing with loss. Then as time passed, I eventually got into dating as I was in my early 40’s and I was quite prolific writhing lyrics about dating and those who entered my life.

Fast forward to 2025 and I rediscovered my lyrics and because the internet provides such great access to singers, composers and producers I decided to make songs from those past lyrics and I began writing again. It is my intention to provide 81 songs on this website. A Nashville producer found me and we are making an album with 10 of my lyrics coming out in the Spring 2026 entitled MOVING ON…  IT’S A PART OF LIFE. Those songs will make it to this site.

I graduated from Miami University in Oxford Ohio. It was interrupted by 3 years of military service as I volunteered for the draft in 1966 going into the Army and becoming a Second Lieutenant. I did not go to Viet Nam. As a Cavalry officer, I served in Germany. I finished college with Accountancy honors becoming a CPA but quickly went into broadcasting as business manager of radio and TV stations in Los Angeles. Then I had an 8-year stint at 20th Century Fox serving as a Financial and Administrative executive with connections to both STAR WARS and M*A*S*H.  I owned my own company for 10 years as a business consultant before returning for my last job as General Manager of a Beverly Hills Talent Agency.

And my ambition in life was always to be a game show host. LOL!

Always loved sports playing basketball till 61 and from roots in competitive tennis in high school now a pickleball player. Still go fishing and travel.  Living in Vegas approaching 20 years and BINGO is my game. I hope you find a song or two to connect to. Robert
